NIH is a really nice place. I can see this courtyard from my room. Yesterday, they sent me down for a chest X-ray. It was just before giving me a couple of units of blood and I escaped. The door opened so easily, the courtyard is mostly shade with beautiful plants surrounding you and a slow moving water fountain. The plants had just been watered and it was in the cool part of the day. I just took in the smell of being outside of the hospital. That helps with the lack of taste and smell; re-booting the system. They gave me a couple of units of whole blood and plateletes daily; again, re-booting the system.

Hey there--
I loved the picture of you escaping into the courtyard!! I enjoyed sitting in the courtyard with you recently watching you enjoy your egg salad sandwich with no napkins, cuz ur dumb friend forgot that maybe you didnt want to use your sleeve to wipe ur mouth! U are always such a good sport and are remaining that way thru the trials and tribulations of the NIH experience. Bravo on the shrinking tumors...trust Molly's eyes..We enjoyed our visit with u the other day and Adam was very interested in ur explanation of what all ur equipment was for. You're a great teacher and role model demonstrating strength, bravery, positive attitude and spirit and we are always thinking about you and Molly and sending positive thoughts your way. Keep up the good work!!
Home now and just checking in with you. Sending my thoughts and prayers your way. Hope you are starting to feel better. Many hugs to you and Molly. smile
Keep finding your place of calmness in midst of the all turmoil you going through physically. Mental strength is just as important as physical and emotional strength. Prayers for continued shrinkage...wait, that didn't come out sound right...but you know what I mean :)
